Always assuming you trust those to work properly !

I've seen similar war stories myself but I would say that it is important 
to know what was in the contract to start with. I've seen many hosting 
providers that are more like landlords. They'll rent you a box to a given 
state of repair but thereafter it's your responsibility to redecorate, 
change the lightbulbs etc.

Having said that, if it *is* their responsibility then you should be 
making very loud noises if they are not fulfilling their contractual 
obligations.

Sadly, much like having crap landlords, it's often too much pain to move
hosting providers so we put up with it, moan, and fix it ourselves.

Caveat emptor and all that :-)
