Further to that the driving test has been compulsory since 1935 (1st
June).

It was suspended during WW11 from Sept 2nd 1939 to November 1st 1946.

So any driver who has a full driving license issued at any time after
15/4/1957 has passed the test. That's everyone driving who is under 63
years of age.
