My telewest modem uses a bog-standard dhcp setup (well from the client
point of view it's bog-standard)
If Mandrake is as user friendly as I'm led to believe it is, the default
settings will get you online.
As for security, you've already protected yourself against most things
by using Linux but as for the rest, someone else on this list, perhaps
someone who actually uses Mandrake, could help you better.
