They already do that.

Coming from a country where cars, cyclist and public transportation
coexists perfectly, I have a really hard time understanding this
recentment towards cycle lanes, etc.

I say build cycle lanes every where and use your bike or public
transportation unless it is absolutely necessary to drive.
