2.4.23 appears to cause/contribute to a kernel panic when I attempt to run the 
ppp script :(. Could be that the setup is wrong in some way, but it is 
difficult to say whether it is that or a genuine bug (it reports a bug in 
sched.c iirc) in the kernel itself.
