[Gllug] domain name redirection

If you've got a .co.uk, http://www.123-reg.co.uk are transferring in for
free. You will need to ask DSVR to change the IPS tag of your domain (.co.uk
only?) to 123's. DSVR may charge a nominal fee for this. Once done, you will
be free to update 123's DNS server to point to your IP address.

Subject: [Gllug] domain name redirection

Hi

I need some help from the list here. This is dns
related and I'm on thin ice, so bear with me...

I've got a domain name and it points to some free web
space with DSVR. They've been very good, but my
freebie has expired, and now I have to buy space from
them. Trouble is, I'm tight fisted.

The domain name is valid for another 12 months or so,
so no worries there.

I have adsl at home with a static ip, so I'd like to
point my domain name's tags at that ip. Trouble is,
DSVR won't do this as they don't want to be
responsible for the DNS when I'm not paying them
anything (although I did register the domain through
them).

Can anyone recommend a cheap (or free) way of
transferring my tags over to the new ip?

BTW, I have 48 hours!!!!!

Cheers,

Ben
