Hello and welcome

   Real PCI modems are available, and they are not much more exoensive than
winmodems but more difficult to find. Winmodems may work more or less, but
they are a total waste of CPU which has to spend ages waiting for slow data
instead of geting on with something else. Do you really need to use an
internal modem? It always helps if you can give full details, there is a
good chance that someone else has tried before, and can give a quick answer.
