This was the original article on news.com:

http://news.com.com/2100-7355-5119434.html

I wrote to Rob Lemos (and apparently a few other people did too - see
below) pointing out the groklaw article which cast doubt on the
veracity of SCO's claims. Groklaw article:

http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20031210163721614

I got this unexpected reply from Mr. Lemos, showing an unusual
dedication to real journalism and researching - which should be
praised I think:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
From: Rob Lemos <...>
Subject: RE: FEEDBACK:Data attack cripples SCO Web site

Sorry for the impersonal reply, but I have more than 60 people who pointed this
article out.

My latest article has been put up here:

http://news.com.com/2100-7355_3-5120706.html?tag=nefd_top

And CAIDA has used real data to quantify the attack here:

http://www.caida.org/analysis/security/sco-dos/

The two articles should answer most of the issues brought up by the Groklaw
piece.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can see from the article links that the journalist has evidence
that the attack is real.
