Same reason as art exhibitions being condemned for not being in London.
The unsophisticated masses do not deserve it.

Would the same indefinite extension be given to patents.
If you invent something in your late teens why should a patent have less time 
than copyright.
If a company invents something would the patent last as long as the company 
and what happens if the company is sold?
Who is right on patent law - Europe where it rests on first to publish or in 
the USA where it is on first to register?
