 You can try Bastille, it is a package designed to enhance
security and makes installing a firewall dead easy, basically
you run a script that gives you options and explains quite well
what they are useful for.

Once you install the rpm, it is the default firewall setup in mdk
8.2 you need to run InteractiveBastille from the console.

In my opinion shorewall as recommended by others is a PITA.
