yes it is! if you are a newbie and need help then ask here, or at a meet 
:-) its the way things work, i will never say 'no i wont help ask on 
another list' because that is pushing someone away from the best part of 
linux and gpl, freedom, co-operation and sharing

this is a LINUX list, and you cant really make a thread titled 'OT: 
linux newbie needs help' without feeling like its not-off topic :-)
