The BBC at least tries to maintain some impartiality, i'll agree it doesn't
always achieve it, but what are the alternatives? We make everything
private business and get feed whatever the corportate owner wants us to see
or we let the nice, kind megalomanical Aussie take over what little's left?

If we didn't pay for the BBC then newsworthy items like the 'dossier' would
get coverage where? In a couple of tabloids?

I'm sorry that's just laughable. Are you saying that Phillipa Forester and
Noel Edmonds are coming round your house on a Sunday with baseball bats and
demanding money? I'd withhold payment just to see that! Although i'd like
the upgrade from Forester someone with less children and releated scars.
