Of course, vim != vi. Also, vim doesn't have to be fat:

	isengard:~% rpm -qf /bin/vi
	vim-minimal-6.1-2
	isengard:~% ls -l /bin/vi
	-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       386120 Mar 27  2002 /bin/vi

Alternatively:

	-r-xr-xr-x    3 root     root       433024 Mar  8  2002 /usr/bin/nvi

nvi in particular will give you most of the useful bits of vim (unlimited
undo, no line/file length limits, split screen multiple buffers, etc.),
without the bloat.
