I would like to point out he said _single drive_, ie. one disk.  If he 
had two, you are absolutely right.

As for the swap partition, it is a Red Hat thing, I am sorry I said 
Linux, I sometimes forget the distinction *sigh*.  I am also guessing it 
will not be a requirement in the future as memory becomes more available 
in large quantities as well as very cheap.
