Raid 1 of course :-)

I am just testing the Raid 5 /datadisk using this method.

It booted without one of the 4 disks and all the data seems to be there.

I am going to make some changes then shutdown and plug in the missing disk
to see what happens.

Using sofware RAID on your root partition is very brave. Are you using
RAID 0 or RAID1?

If you're using RAID1, try this simply test.  Turn machine off, unplug
one disk, turn machine on.
