The last time the March was due to start at 12 - or was that 1? - anyway, 
whichever, it took off at 10.30. (Presumably under the influence of the 
police wondering where the hell they were going to put everybody). I was 
there by 11 and it was already started. Even getting there at 11 and having 
the same plan as you about moving along the side and getting up to the 
front and thus to the rally I was still not able to get to the front and 
the rally was long on when I finally got there.

Mind you, I was at the Embankment section. I think they ask people from 
London to go to Embankment and to save Gower Street for those who come from 
up the country. Though I don't suppose a few more would be noticed ;)

I know what you mean by that *shuffle* - there were just so many people - I 
have friends who were on the march and didn't get to  Hyde Park until 5 pm 
and there were still lots behind them.
