I'm about to buy an ADSL modem but I noticed both NetGear and D-Link
products state as "requirements" either Windows or MacOS. How can this
be? Surely an external ADSL modem doesn't know which OS it's connected
to when there's nothing but an Ethernet cable between it and the
machine? Is anyone using one of these products? If so I'd like to know
so that I can get on with ordering it as my BT line is already activated.
