So my disk has started clunking and grinding and refusing to mount, or
respond.

Need a new disk.

I think the one that melted was an IBM, and I think I heard many bad things
about them (post purchase).
I think I remember hearing good things about Seagate.

IDE, home server setup.  Anything ones to avoid? Recs?
