[Gllug] Knoppix 3.1 - bad display

I'm a newbie to Linux.
I'm trying to run the Knoppix from CD, have changed my system to boot from 
the CD,which it does but I'm unsure what to type at the boot: prompt.
I've hit enter and the screen display is ghosted x 3 ?
Can anyone help, do I have to change my screen settings to 1280 x 1024 ?

Any help appreciated.
