That's all well and good but it's an expensive, sucky format.  What's
more, it doesn't come as standard with 99% of computer installs,
whereas Windows Media Player does, if that's your argument.

I get the impression that was some of their geeks hassling for it but
there's been no actual allocation of staff, budget or anything to that
project.  It's now languishing without any active streams and no set
date for then they will return, which leaves us all with the very
sucky realplayer option again.
