They both have answering machine functionality with the computer turned off.  The pro version has buttons so you can 
actually go through the messages with the computer off. The non pro version will only play the messages under control 
from the computer. Thats the only diference I could find.  They both have a whole host of features which made them 
pretty premium products when they were current.
