[Gllug] getting rid of keyboard error on boot

I am setting up another box, but I don't want to put another keyboard as
I connect to it via ssh. The way I did it was to boot the machine up
while a keyboard is connected (because otherwise it gave me a 'keyboard
error') and then disconnected it. Could this be a problem ?
Also, is there a way to get rid of this keyboard error, to make a machine
start without a keyboard attached ?
