Any DDS drive should "just work".

By software for a Samba server, I assume you don't mean Samba:) What 
exactly do you mean? Which Linux platform? In which case it really makes 
no odds (although you probably don't want to shell out for SuSE SLES or 
Red Hat AS for a small application). If not, what do you mean?
