We always tell correspondents, truthfully, that we view all incoming emails
on 'dumb' terminals; so attachments cannot be viewed on them.

(Where attachments are NECESSARY we simply decode them on the unix box and
then ftp them internally to a Windoze box - eg tnefs (ugh!) xls jpg pdf) -
anything that appears to be a windows/dos executable is suffixed .VIRUS
to warn the users against opening !)
