[Gllug] spooler hangs with cups 1.1.6

I am using cups on 425 app servers running Mandrake 7.2 and have the same problem with stores that print more or larger print jobs. All lp commands seem to freeze up or have to be killed until some of the jobs have printed. It seems like the spooler hangs up for some time and causes dumb terminals from which these jobs were printed to hang as well. Have you had any luck with this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
