[Gllug] locked console screen

Solved the problem  !

What a twit  - completely forgot that the entire keyboard state, including
scroll-lock, goes across with a virtual screen switch.

Somehow, probably whilst the screen was physically switched off at night,
the scroll lock got hit and I never noticed it  (only a small led on my
keyboard).
