[Gllug] Whitehall denies backing US-style software patents

I was at the meeting yesterday, and it has to be said that Lord
Sainsbury and Peter Hayward from the P.O. are lying.

This statement in particular is infuriating:

> but maintains the status quo."

It actually legalizes the current laissez-faire situation.

Nice of the "reporter" from vnunet to solicit views from all sides of
the argument ...  There's obviously a very low barrier to entry for
journalism these days.
