You can hand-edit the new fsfs storage backend (although it's tricky,
it *can* be done).

But in Subversion I've found much less need to do that, because
of the Perl Subversion interface. Most things I'd do with hand-hacking
can be done about as fast with a mess of Perl. (Emphasis on `mess'.)

Agreed. The biggest problem by far with arch now is that it makes the
hard and nearly impossible things easy and the easy things hard. i.e.,
someone needs to write a *lot* of wrappers to make doing operations
that are commonly done easier to do --- you shouldn't need to use
black magic commands to make the tea. :)
