wrt KDE bashing I meant that whenever a preference to either of the two more
common Linux gui environments it mention it seems that a battle always
follows. wrt the extra configuration options in KDE I think that's just down
to different approaches to gui design. I prefer the nifty bit you speak
of... Others like, or are more suited, in the case of non computer literates,
to GNOME's simplistic approach.

Funny you say that, even though I prefer KDE overall I like the look and feel
of GNOME... For me the most happy medium would be all of the nifty bits and
stuff to play with of KDE but the simplicity of GNOME's default UI. This may
sound a bit contradictory but it makes sense in my head.
