[Gllug] Linux on (Maxtor A14A250) USB2.0 removable HD?

I'm thinking of buying a Maxtor A14A250 250Gb external hard drive. I want to
format it 65% NTFS and 35% ext3. Does anyone have any experience with this?
With a recent Fedora or Mandrake will I be able to see the drive from Disk
Druid and format as if it was an internal drive?
