Have you read /usr/share/doc/xserver-xfree86/NEWS.Debian.gz 
or /usr/share/doc/xfree86-common/FAQ.gz?

How does the content of /var/lib/xfree86/XF86Config-4.md5sum and the 
output of `md5sum /etc/X11/XF86Config-4` compare?
