[Gllug] Evolution gone to lunch

This isn't of general interest, so straing of topic.

Most of you know I'm a longtime Evolution user.
Today its gone batty on me - when I clock on 'Add a column' in
the Inbox, or any mailbox, it pops up a dialogue box which
just has a 'close' button.
Clicking on Customize Current View crashes it.
I surmise I've scramble da config file - but which one?
Any ideas which file stores the column names?

I have searched the Evolution knowledgebase, and done my googling.
