I've finally got my printer working, discovered after five months that
my Brother HL-4V was not linux-compatible, so am back to using my old HP
Deskjet 320 with extremely good results.
Now its the USB turn to get working. I've got USB accessability via my
Via motherboard [so it therefore works under MS windows, but isn't
working under Linux]. So I've decided to use some of my birthday money
to get a separate USB card, PC World only sell Belkin products
[certainly thats all they sell in Rochester. 'No call for Linux, only
sell PC and Mac stuff now I'm afraid' was what I was told when I asked.]
However my local computer shop has got in stock a Q-Tec 340r IDE raid
133pci card with 2 ports, and a Newlink USB2 pci card. Are either of
these linux compatible please? I can find the first on google but it
only says MS compatible, doesn't mention linux.
Its rather urgent as I'm going out shopping at about 1500 and plan to
buy the compatible one then, so any help is most gratefully received.
Sharon.
