That's normal - recent FHS changes created /media, but The Rest Of The
World assumes /cdrom - including various debian tools

Tmpfs is a special type of fs used for "temporary" data. Basically, it
behaves like a swappable RAM disk - when RAM is scarce, it gets swapped
out to disk.

Output of top when machine idle?

Also, check to see if it is swapping furiously - I wouldn't *try* to run
KDE on a machine with 64MB of ram.
