Just to make it clear, I was simplifying things very much here.
We have an automatic three stage burn-in for new nodes.
Between each test, the node turns its own power off and on.
cpuburn - runs stresscpu
torture - runs a  primes-finding program
compile - repeatedly runs kernel compiles
