[Gllug] Vodafone mobile connect card

Does anyone know if these things can be made to run under the blessed nix?

Googling is rather inconclusive - reports it is actually a pcmcia USB card 
with a modem on the end, but nothing to suggest this can be used or not used 
so I wonder if anybody had personal experience?
