Some might say "But if the BIOS on the card is doing the RAID, then it's
hardware, right?", but would miss the fact that the BIOS is code run by
the PC's CPU. It isn't the same as the card containing a processor which
handles the RAID function independantly of the host system's
processor/RAM/etc
