From my point of view there's another problem: knowledgeable writers
get paid almost nothing for their work.  Writing a technical book is a
labour of love, not a lucrative trade.  If you can already earn UKP
500-1,000 a day consulting, then why would you bother earning about
the same _a month_ by writing?
