Actually, if you use VueScan 8.1.x in its default wizard mode I think
its even easier to use than XSane. In particular its standard colour
adjustment mode is 'White Balance' which does a much better job than
the AutoLevels/Manual levels you need to futz around with in XSane/
GIMP.
