Hi Mick,
This diploma programme looks well-rounded, with the inclusion of
project management and business problem-solving using Office. Very
promising!
I'm about to "port" a business of mine from Canada to London. It's a
business centre provider for hotels that uses a modified Linux distro
on the desktop and a centralized authentication system. I need staff
who are comfortable with networking and the underlying mechanics of
Linux desktops.
Do you offer any of the following options?
1) Networking: building/maintaining firewalls and network services on
Linux or BSD.
2) Deconstructing the desktop OS: window managers, desktop mods,
start-up scripts, permissions, network authentication, etc.
These skills are necessary for this business and, I've observed, for
other businesses deploying Linux in the front office.
Also, we've spent a lot of time dealing with usability issues and
tweaks. The most recent distros are making amazing progress in this
area, but our staff still need to be tuned in to the smallest
irritations to novice users. Any courses that could help here?
Thanks,
Salim Virani
