I think I've got the MTA issue sorted out now, but this distro still isn't 
"playing nice":

Many of my issues seem to be hardware related - detection of some of the 
hardware seems really flaky (it got many things wrong), and try as I might, 
nothing seems to want to make my AC 97 on-board sound work.  

I've managed to get it to find (and configure) an FX5200 video card, but sound 
and (as yet) my old printer (a venerable HP 693C) still don't want to play.  

This box was supplied by Transtec just the other day, with Suse 
"pre-installed".  Much of it (including the sound) didn't work, or didn't 
work properly, so a complete re-install finally proved necessary - I'm not 
sure what went on when they installed it, but it was a real mess.

My hardware combination, 'net connection, and requirements shouldn't be too 
outlandish - perhaps Suse isn't the distro for me.....
