Dual layer disks (which are expensive) hold 8.4Gb of real data. You can
use standard single-layer disks which are cheap but only hold 4.7Gb of
real data.

If I were looking to do this now I would either buy a cheap single-layer
burner and upgrade to a faster one in a year or so or I would buy a dual
layer burner and use single-layer disks until the media price falls.
