[Gllug] Upgrade RH8.0 to RH9

Dear Tethys,

I'm upgrading to RH9 as an intermediate step -- there's
still a possiblility I'll upgrade to RHEL, which is my
department's supported version of Linux.

Also, if I decided to migrate to Fedora, I'd probably want
to install afresh, and that's not a minor undertaking.
