Don't know why 2.0 was chosen but I had a box running until recently
which had swap of about x1 (it was the firewall/router - started off
with 32MB RAM and 64MB swap and then the RAM was increased to 48MB and
then 64MB but there was no extra disk space).

It was the most stable box I had (a function of how muh more stable the
2.4 kernel was compared to 2.6) and was up for 99 days on its last
switch off (on an ordinary domestic power supply with no UPS too).
