No, there's no gender based difference in starting stats at all
(except inasmuch as Valkyrie stats are available only to women).

Polymorph self; turns you into a random monster or rarely a member of
your own race, and tends to preserve your gender. Hence a female
character will find it easier to end up as a female oviparous monster;
eggs can be used as sources of pets or as weapons.
