[Gllug] Firefox plugins on Ubuntu

I have severely messed up my firefox setup on Ubuntu to the extent that
it won't launch the realplayer plugin (which is installed) but plays
video via the xine plugin which is not too stable.

Googling has found me nothing that is useful -- so how can I set up my
ff so that real video and audio play on the real player plugin and not
some other plugin?
