On Tue, 08 Feb 2005, Peter Childs prattled cheerily:

`How do I do X? Don't point me at any of the resources that discuss
how to do X.'

Sorry, I'm going to point you there anyway, because that's where the
information is.

It is *not* hard to find <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/>
(one google search for `plugin api site:mozilla.org' found it).

Specific useful links:
<http://web.archive.org/web/20040203041440/http://devedge.netscape.com/library/manuals/2002/plugin/1.0/>
<http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/npruntime.html>
<http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/xembed-plugin-extension.html>
<http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/plugin-identifier.html>

but virtually everything linked from that page is useful.

They have a large selection of newsgroups.

netscape.public.mozilla.plugins is probably what you're looking for.
