I recall seeing a new product reviewed 6-9 months ago, from on of the
major router manufacturers - I forget which this minute but I expect I
could find it if needed.  At first sight it simply seemed to combine
ADSL router and splitter in one box (that is, you plugged the router
into your telephone socket and then your telephone into the router).
The clever bit was that you could then route any telephone call from
your normal phone over VoIP simply by putting a small prefix ("#"?) on
the number which you were dialling.
