[Gllug] French Gnome desktop - configuration option?

My son currently has a French boy to stay on an exchange visit.  I've
created a computer account for him (so he can e-mail home and keep
up-to-date with the Tour de France) and I feel sure it should be
possible for him to have his Gnome desktop in French, but I can't find a
configuration option anywhere.

Can anyone enlighten me?
