[Gllug] usb printing

Can anyone tell me why i cannot get my usb printer to print.  I am using 
Ubuntu and my printer is a lexmark.

It is recognised and says it is configured it just refuses to print.  Ir 
recognises the correct model and seems to be using the ghostscript and 
gimprint drivers so everything seems ok there.  It's as if the data is 
getting blocked somewhere en route.

Any ideas
